BRE Chief Executive, Peter Bonfield and BRE Chief Science and Engineering Advisor elected as Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering

Dr Peter Bonfield OBE, Chief Executive of the BRE Group and Professor Doug King, BRE Chief Science and Engineering Advisor, have been elected as Fellows of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

The Fellowship recognises Peter’s contribution and leadership of innovative research associated with the built environment, and in applying systems engineering to sustainable development.

Doug King’s election recognises his dedication to integrated engineering design for high performance buildings and his career-long commitment to sustainable design.

Peter Bonfield said: “I am very pleased to be elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering which recognises the important contribution BRE makes in delivering a better built environment.  It is super too, that our newly appointed Chief Science and Engineering Advisor, Doug King, has also been elected.  I hope together we can make a positive contribution to engineering in the UK through our new association with the Royal Academy of Engineering.
