Vanke announces first residential dwelling on Beijing Green Building Park

Working in collaboration with BRE, Vanke, China’s largest developer, has announced details of the first residential dwelling to be constructed on the Beijing Green Building Park.

The Innovation House will demonstrate innovative design solutions to meet and drive the demand for sustainable development both in China and around the world. Featuring a diverse range of low carbon technologies and building materials, the house will showcase Vanke’s approach to future housing that will provide efficient, flexible and healthy environments for occupants.

The model for the Beijing Green Building Park is based on the original BRE Innovation Park in Watford. It will offer a platform for Chinese and international construction supply chains to test and trial sustainable innovations for homes and communities before applying them in the real world at volume. As reported recently by BRE, British companies have won over £600,000 of construction contracts on the Park to date, with more in the pipeline as the project progresses.

The Innovation House represents an excellent opportunity for British or international companies wishing to showcase their services and products in the world's largest growth economy. If you are interested in getting involved, BRE is inviting organisations to complete a questionnaire outlining key experience and expertise for the project. Successful applicants will be invited to a workshop in September which will set out the next steps for developing the consortium.
