BREEAM NOR is operated in Norway by the Norwegian Green Building Council (NGBC) www.ngbc.no under licence from BRE Global. If you would like to certify a building in Norway or find out more information on BREEAM NOR please visit the NGBC website above
Developed by ROM Eiendom AS and built by Skanska Norge AS, Schweigaardsgate 21 and 23 are the first buildings in Norway to achieve BREEAM NOR certification.
The buildings in central Oslo are a role model for sustainable construction in Norway, and have achieved a BREEAM NOR rating. They are close to Oslo central station and incorporate a number of environmental features including renewable energy systems, low water consumption and green working practices.
“Congratulations to everyone who contributed to the design” says Sverre Tiltnes, general manager of the Norwegian Green Building Council, who operate BREEAM as national scheme operator for Norway.
“We are very pleased to have achieved BREEAM NOR Excellent” says project director Eyvind Skaar at ROM Eiendom. “The buildings are space efficient, flexible, future-orientated, and provide great value for tenants, owners and society”.
The occupiers of the buildings are the national railway operator, NSB Group, and Gjensidige Forsikring, the major insurance group.
Schweigaardsgate 21 and 23 are not the first buildings in Norway to be BREEAM certified but are the first under the new BREEAM NOR provided by the Norwegian Green Building Council under licence from BRE Global. They are part of the growing BREEAM international family which now has scheme operators in the UK, Germany, Spain, Sweden, as well as Norway.
